Open Estonia Foundation hosted Grantmakers East Forum

Open Estonia Foundation together with the European Foundation Center organized the re-launch of Grantmakers East Forum (GEF), which took place in Tallinn on October 11-12. The 12^th GEF brought together grant makers operating in Eastern Europe and Central Asia for an annual meeting of strategizing and networking.  The two-day event comprised interactive plenaries with keynote speakers present to provoke discussion around the most important global issues of today. In addition, participants had an opportunity to organise side sessions that dealt with technical cooperation and grantmaking trends. Around 160 participants from over 30 countries were present at the Forum.

If until recently the main focus of donors have been democracy promotion, reforms and social change in the CEE region, then this year witnessed that the future topics are going to be energy security and climate change.
