Emergency Fund

The Open Estonia Foundation's Emergency Fund provides support to civil society organizations to help vulnerable groups tackle the effects of the global economic crisis and to promote open society values in difficult situations.

The program funds two types of initiatives:

  • Social initiatives supporting the groups of society that have been most severly hit by the economic crisis. Projects from areas with difficult social-economic conditions are particularly welcome.
  • Innovative initiatives promoting open society values, fighting negative crisis-time social phenomena, such as populism, demagogy, intolerance, attempts to limit democratic debate.
